The Open Day Center (ODC) empowers vulnerable children and young adults to become responsible individuals through holistic approach. The program‘s flexibility brings support to the beneficiaries according to their rediness and desire to move forward with their lives. Providing both internal services to walk-in beneficiaries and external interventions in partner institutions, the ODC creates dynamic network and coordinates private and public stakeholders to reintegrate them to society.
Meet Basic Needs
The ODC is providing walk-in beneficiaries who are taking part in the center‘s activities with basic need such as day-shelter, water, food, clothing and sanitation. It also provides in-house basic nursing services, psychological and health education sessions. If needed, benefeciaries can be referred to external doctors and public hospitals within VirlanieFaith‘s network.
Provide Social Support
The ODC‘s social workers provide social and administrative services including case management and individual counseling of the children, processing of birth certificates for those who have no legal entity, referrals to public administration or partner organizations, and family reunification. The ODC is a family-oriented environment where beneficiaries develop positive values to foster mutual respect and self-reflection.
Promote Inclusive Education
The ODC offers tailor-fit educational services such as Kindergarten for young beneficiaries, Basic Literacy Program and Physical Education for young adults. It is also a DepED accredited Learning Center for Alternative Learning System (ALS) program giving them a chance to achieve a school degree. The center also promotes recreational and creative activities through the practice of sports, music, arts and crafts.
Prepare To Independent Living
The ODC has its own Independent Living (ILP) to support young adults in becoming self-sufficient. It provides them with soft skills, vocational and on-the-job trainings. They can later be employed or supported in micro entrepreneurship initiatives.
